Playa del Carmen is a formerly small fishing village that by its beautiful coast became a genuine tourist paradise. The village is small and in contrary to the tourist center Cancun still a pearl in the Caribic. There are no hotels higher than palms. The incredible turquoise caribbean sea is just around the corner along with the stretches of white powder beaches. Activities like water sports including scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing are available. There is also a lot of Beach activities including volleyball and beach soccer.

Playa is an excellent location to learn spanish, and at the same time a good starting point for far journeys into the Jukatan peninsula as well as for daytrips to to the Maya ruins, as for example Xcaret, Coba, Tulum, and Chichen Itza amongst others.

The School "El Estudiante" is located in calle 22 entre Avenidas 1 y 5, close to Playa del Carmen's famous 5th Avenue, which is by far the most beautiful shopping mile in Quintana Roo, Mexico.

There are many mony exchange offices in Playa del Carmen. You can also draw money from banks with EC (electronic cash) or Credit Card.
